DUI checkpoint scheduled for Mercer County

MERCER COUNTY, W. Va. (WVNS) — West Virginia State Police will be conducting a DUI checkpoint this weekend in Mercer County. 

The checkpoint is scheduled from 7pm Friday, January 12 to 1 am Saturday, January 13.  Troopers will be set up on Oakvale Road.

“The purpose of this checkpoint is to increase public awareness and to deter the citizens of West Virginia from driving a motor vehicle while their ability to do so has been impaired from the use of drugs and/or alcohol,” First Sergeant R. A. Maddy said.
