UPDATE (04/18/18, 6:25 PM):
PRINCETON, W. Va. (WVNS) — On the morning of Wednesday, April 18, 2018, several fire departments were working to put out a fire at a local diner in Princeton. Dolly Lane is the co-owner and namesake of that diner since she opened it in October of 2016.
“I was scared,” Lane said. “I really was… We wanted this place to be a family place. We wanted everybody to feel at home when they came in the doors. I hope we did that.”
This is the second fire to happen on Oakvale Road this week. When Princeton Power Sports caught fire on Monday, Lane was worried her diner would share the same fate.
“It went through my mind that ours could burn, too,” Lane said. “And it did. I feel that was God’s way of telling me that it may be possible, that this could happen.”
While the family waits for the insurance to call, they are already looking to rebuild and reopen.
“It may take a while,” Lane said. “We really feel like God has a plan for us and He put us here for reason. And I don’t think that reason’s gone yet. I think He still wants us here.”
