Local news anchor to lead Concord Homecoming parade

A woman who has been bring the news to people across southern West Virginia for nearly a decade will be heading up Concord University’s homecoming parade.  Merrily McAuliffe, a Concord alum and award-winning journalist, will serve as the Grand Marshal.

McAuliffe was a reporter and anchor for 59News from 2011 to 2013.  She currently co-anchors 13 News This Morning in Charleston, WV.  While attending Concord, she was a field reporter for “The Campus Beautiful” and a news anchor for WMLT (now Mountain Lion News).  She graduated in 2011.

The homecoming parade begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018.  Line up will be a Callaghan Stadium in Athens.  The route will make its way through the front of the campus, up Vermillion Street and conclude at Concord United Methodist Church.
