Local university provides health check while shopping

Mercer County

American National University provided health screenings for people searching for the perfect Christmas gift. The school set up a pop-up clinic in the Mercer Mall where shoppers could get a quick screening of their blood pressure and blood sugar while hitting the stores.

According to ANU Student, Cassandra Tait, these vitals should be regularly checked to make sure levels are in a healthy range.

“Just to be aware that their sugar may be higher than they think or their blood pressure may be higher than think,” Tait expalined.

The ANU nurses also recommend getting blood sugar and blood pressure taken at least once a year.
