A man who was wanted by several law enforcement agencies throughout Mercer County has been arrested in connection to multiple crimes.

Investigators arrested James Robert Lavake Junior on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2019. Chief Deputy Joe Parks said Lavake was wanted by deputies, Bluefield Police and Princeton Police for breaking into buildings throughout the county. Parks said right now, he is connected to at least 3 property crimes, but there could be more.

Lavake reportedly stole a wide-range of items from coins and jewelry, to yard equipment. Parks said officers conducted a search warrant at Lavake’s home on Lorton Lick Road in Bluewell and were able to recover some of the stolen property.

Deputies said this is not Lavake’s first run-in with law enforcement and that he has been arrested previously for break-ins. He is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail on no bond.
