The city of Bluefield Animal control will receive over $1,300 as a grant from The Community Foundation of the Virginias.
The money received will be used to purchase updated animal carriers, animal bite gloves, and animal nets.
City Ambassador, Marie Blackwell, assured the new equipment will be more beneficial and safer for animal control staff.
“It enables them to be able to help the sick animals and that along the way that we encounter throughout the city,” Blackwell said.
The presentation of the grant will be on Tuesday. September 25. at Noon at the city board meeting.
