Power outage and road closure planned in Matoaka

Appalachian Power has announced that there will be a planned power outage in Mercer County over the weekend.  Contractors will be installing new electric lines along Matoaka Rock Road and Cemetery Hill Road on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018.  

The work will be done between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.  According to a release from the company, some customers in the Matoaka area will be without electric service while the work is under way.  Additionally, there will be road closures on Church Hollow Road and County Route 10/5 on the Matoaka side.
