Three men arrested for trying to pick up prostitutes in Princeton

A sting operation in Princeton, WV leads to the arrest of three men who were attempting to pick up prostitutes on Thorn Street.  All three men are facing a charge of Solicitation of Prostitution.

According to a criminal complaint, Detectives with the Princeton Police Department were working with a confidential informant (CI) on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018.  The suspects in the case offered the CI amounts of money from $15 to several hundred dollars for sexual services.

The suspects are Bradley Koepnick, 51, of Statesville, NC, Richard Witcher, 43, of Princeton, WV and Daniel Southern, 62, also from Princeton.  Southern is also facing a charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver.

The additional charge against Southern comes from a search made by detectives during his arrest.  Investigators said they found hundreds of opioid prescription pills and around $1,000 in cash during the search.  The pills were identified as hydromorphone and oxycodone and police said they have an approximate street value of $8,000.

Koepnick and Witcher were arraigned and released on bond.  Southern is being held in the Southern Regional Jail.
