HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) – A man on Detroit’s 10 Most Wanted List was arrested by the Huntington Violent Crime Drug Task Force on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019.

Michael Christian Hopkins, aka Robert Pace, was charged with being a fugitive from justice following the execution of a search warrant Wednesday afternoon on the 300 block of 9th Avenue West. Hopkins is being held pending an extradition hearing to Detroit. His original charge is home invasion.

The warrant was developed with information obtained during arrests made by the Task Force earlier in the day on the 1200 block of 10th Avenue.

As detectives were establishing surveillance, they observed two men leaving the house. Detectives stopped the men. One of the men had a small amount of marijuana on his person and the second man provided false identification.

Detectives were quickly able to determine Hopkins’ true identity and that he was on Detroit’s Top 10 Most Wanted List. Daniel D. Crane of Detroit was also arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

A small amount of marijuana was found inside the residence and ammunition for various types and calibers of weapons were recovered.
