According to a new report by the Food and Drug Administration, a grain-free diet for dogs could lead to an enlarged heart.

The report claims the special diet could be linked to dilated cardiomyopathy, or DCM.

If a pet is suffering from any of the following symptoms, like decreased energy, coughing, difficulty breathing, and episodes of collapsing, it could be caused by the heart condition.

The FDA did not name a specific brand of dog food, but recommends checking with a vet to see which food is bet for the individual animal.
