If you plan on traveling out of the country, travel insurance could save you a lot of money if something were to happen to your trip.
According to AAA international travel has grown in popularity. Their data also shows an increase in travelers considering insurance when they take trips. According to a recent AAA Travel survey, nearly 4 in 10 Americans are likely to purchase insurance for future international trips. Trip cancellation protection is the most valuable benefit with 9 in 10 of those likely to purchase insurance saying that getting their money back, if they cancel a trip, is their top priority.
Melissa Norris is a Travel Agent with AAA. She says this a way to protect everything you have put into your trip incase something happens.
“Always recommend cancellation trip interruption insurance. It is again the passengers right or option to purchase that we always give them those scenarios of what could or couldn’t happen,” Norris said.
AAA’s travel insurance also includes medical, dental and emergency evacuation when traveling abroad. When booking a trip you may want to purchase a “cancellation-anytime-insurance” or “weather insurance”.
