With snow expected to fall later this evening, the City of Beckley is well prepared with salt supplies. The Board of Public Works has several hundred tons of salt. They said they’re expecting more and should be getting it in before the snowfall. If all of that isn’t enough, the city said they will has access to a one hundred ton supply from the West Virginia Division Of Highways.
“We’ve got our aggregate, our number nine stone, we’re getting a shipment in of it today and should have plenty of that, which is what we use to salt with the senders and we’re in pretty good shape,” Beckley Street Inspector, Jeremy Stump, said.
Stump wants to remind people to park their cars in their driveways instead of the street because that will help workers treat the streets better.
