Saint Patrick’s Day was more than just a day to wear green. It was also a day to hit the slopes without spending any green. On Sunday, March 17, 2019, all ski resorts in the Mountain State allowed West Virginia residents to ski for free.

Tom Wagner, Executive Vice President at Winterplace Ski Resort, said this is a way to have a family fun day before the season comes to an end.

“We’ve had a season that has sometimes been challenged with weather, but we’ve still got plenty of snow,” Wagner said. “When we have the snow, you hate to see it go to waste… Just get everybody to come out and enjoy it.”

Wagner said Winterplace will be open until Saturday March 23. At that point, they will make a call if they stay open any longer for the season.
