Governor Jim Justice started a new division that will help make sure every business pays their taxes. It’s called the West Virginia State Tax Enforcement Division.

Through this division, Governor Justice hopes no one will slip through the cracks without paying what they owe.

The governor has appointed Byrd White, who also serves on the Raleigh County Commission as the head of the division.

White explained this is an issue he hopes to address in order help West Virginia as a whole. “If we all pay our fair share, everybody is better off. When some of us are paying what we should and others are not, it hurts all of us,” White said.

The division will be meeting with a financial advisor in the coming weeks to help further address the problem.
