3/21/2019 @ 12:30 PM Christopher Parker pleaded guilty Thursday, March 21, 2019, for robbing the Raleigh County Educators Federal Credit Union back in May of 2018.
Parker is charged with First Degree Robbery, Strangulation, Escape, Domestic Battery, and two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
Parker was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
5/22/2018 @ 3:15 PM Beckley Police have released the name of a man who they believe held up the Raleigh County Educators Federal Credit Union. Christopher Ryan Parker, 34, of Beckley, WV was arrested on Tuesday morning at the Patriot Motor Inn.
Parker is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday afternoon. Investigators said he will be charged with First Degree Robbery. He is also charged with second offense domestic battery and strangulation. Those charges stem from outstanding warrants that are unrelated to the bank robbery.
5/22/2018 @ 10:45 AM Several officers have swarmed a business in Beaver in hopes to find the person who robbed a bank in Beckley last week.
As of 10:50 Tuesday morning, detectives are on scene of the Patriot Motor Inn. Officers tell 59 News they believe the person who robbed the Raleigh County Educators Federal Credit Union last week in Beckley may be staying at the hotel.
One person has been arrested but no names have been released at this hour. Stay with 59 News on this developing story.
ORIGINAL STORY : Officers with the Beckley Police Department are searching for the suspect who held up a bank during the afternoon hours on Wednesday, May 16. 2018. It happened at the Raleigh County Educators Federal Credit Union at around 3 p.m.
The bank is located on Adair Street. Details on the crime have not been released at this time. The bank manager told 59News that the suspect was in and out of the building in 60 seconds.
Law enforcement officers are on the lookout for a suspect who left in a blue Dodge Ram. The suspect was described as a black man of medium height and weight.
The bank manager said no one was injured in the incident. Beckley Police are being assisted by Raleigh County Sheriff’s Deputies.
