On Saturday, Dec. 23, Marquee Cinemas in Beckley hosted a special fundraiser.
The special fundraiser was called Star Wars Family Fun Day, this was to raise funds for Causeacon and the local Women’s Resource Center. Causeacon is Beckley’s first ever pop culture charity convention that offers a variety of activities from cosplay contests to gaming. Not only do they have fun, but they also give back to the community.
Organizers said the highly anticipated event raises funds for the Women’s Resource Center, a nonprofit that provides education and shelter to men, women and children who suffer from domestic and sexual abuse.
