Man arrested for stealing from church, leading law enforcement on chase

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVNS) — A man accused of stealing from a church and leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase is facing a long list of criminal charges. 

Raleigh County Deputies arrested Garin Michael Kincaid, 27 from Belle, Saturday, January 6. 

Deputies said Garin was driving a vehicle with stolen tags.  When they tried pulling him over, he led deputies on a chase and was driving erratic.  

Deputies caught Garin in the Mount Hope area.  On him, they said they found blank checks from Mount Calvary Southern Baptist Church on Dry Hill Road in Beckley.  Court documents state Garin admitted to deputies that he broke into the church, stole several items and placed them along I-77.

Deputies said along the Interstate they found a cello, guitar, speaker and DVD players- valued around $1,400. 

Kincaid is charged with breaking and entering, obstructing, driving suspended, DUI controlled substance, driving revoked 3rd, grand larceny, fleeing with reckless indifference and fleeing while DUI.  He’s being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
