Santa showed up in style Saturday, November 17, 2018 to great many excited kids. Santa arrived at Crossroads mall in Beckley via helicopter and greeted by Mrs. Claus and his elves. Checking off the naughty and nice list, the man in the red suit saw thousands of kids to hear what special things are on their Christmas list this year.

Kathy Housh is the General Manager at Crossroads Mall. She said there are many new things for the kids to enjoy.

“So the elf on the shelf is here and lots of other elves. Mrs. Claus is showing the elf on the shelf movie with movie snacks for the kids,” Housh said.

Along with all of the elves running around people could also enjoy for the first time the New River Youth Symphony and Chours.

Bill Bailey is the conductor of the Youth Symphony. He said this was their first time at Santa’s Arrival.

“Its our first time and its very exciting to be able to be here and share our love for music. And we are mostly the choir but there are some orchestra people there back there singing too,” Bailey said.

Housh said this year they had a bigger turnout then last year. She also said that Santa would not be able to continue to come to visit all the kids if it wasn’t for the support of the community.
