VA Medical Center holds public forum for veterans

Raleigh County

The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Beckley held a public forum on Thursday.

The forum hosted their Veterans Affairs Service Organization partners. These are groups that help to bring veterans together and help advocate for a veterans affairs across the United States. This forum is for the veterans to express their thoughts and concerns and also to get information about upcoming events and new services the medical center provides. Beckley VA Medical Center Director, Stacy Vasquez, says this is so crucial to understanding what their veterans need.

“Talking to them, getting their feedback and thinking about the things they think I need to think about is important for decision making throughout the organization. I want to meet their expectations and if I don’t talk to them about their expectations, I can’t meet them,” Vasquez said.

They’re also trying to get people involved in VA Medical Center’s, Whole Health Programs. These programs involve tai chi, yoga, meditation, aromatherapy and other wellness activities.
