WVU Tech held an open house for the engineering department on Thursday, April 11. The Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences held its popular open house.
The event brought many middle and high school students to campus for interactive STEM exploration.
Professor Hasan El Rifai, Physical Science Department Chair, said this is a great way to teach the younger generation about science.
“We want to show them what we’ve got want to get them interested in science,” El Rifai said. “So, the best way to do it is show them some real life examples, science experiments and what not and get them interested about it.”
Students were able to see demonstrations from a chemistry magic show, to an aero remote-controlled plane. WVU Tech will hold other open houses in the future.
