Hinton Area Foundation is taking in Myra Hogan as the new executive director.

“It was what I had envisioned in my mind as the perfect opportunity to do exactly what I want to do,” Hogan said.

Hogan is now part of a team of members who work to raise money that will be used to help out the community. Hinton Area Foundation Member, David Ziegler, said Hogan will benefit the community.

“We’re very excited. We’ve been looking for an executive director for several years, and Myra just kind of landed in our lap and we’re happy to have her,” Ziegler said.

Hogan is not from the area, but she visited Hinton while growing up and could not help but fall in love. She said this was the perfect time to move to the city and help it grow.

“There’s a pace and a vibration from people here on being very welcoming and friendly and it’s really just a beautiful area. It’s affordable. There’s a lot of good things about being here,” Hogan said.

Hogan said the foundation survives off of team work. The foundation has been running for more than 20 years and she is excited to help current members tackle issues around the community.

“I think we’ve made a positive impact. We hope to make a bigger impact here in the future,” Ziegler said.
