Summers County man arrested for using counterfeit money

HINTON, W. Va. (WVNS)– A Summers County man is in jail after officers find thousands of dollars in counterfeit money in his possession. 

Officers were called out to a local restaurant in Pipestem on Sunday, April 22, 2018 for a counterfeit complaint. 

According to court documents, Jonathan Pakacki and anther man tried to pay for their meals with two $100 bills. Officers confronted Pakacki, who admitted to having fake money.

Officers arrested Pakacki and said they found 67 $100 bills on him totaling $6700.

Pakacki has been charged with uttering of the counterfeit currency and also for possession with intent to utter counterfeit currency.
