UPDATE: Two injured in motor vehicle accident with entrapped passengers

6/15/19 6:30 p.m. UPDATE: Summers County EMS told us two people were hurt in this accident, but did not specify the extent of those injuries.

Summers County dispatchers said the scene is cleared. No word yet on what caused the accident.

ORIGINAL STORY: Summers County crews are responding to a motor vehicle accident with entrapped passengers.

According to the Summers County Fire Department’s Facebook page, they and firefighters from City of Hinton, Jumping Branch-Nimitiz, and Pipestem responded to an auto accident nearby Bluestone Park. The vehicle came to rest 100 feet over a hillside, entrapping the occupants.

The post said crews freed the occupants and brought them up the hill, where Summers County EMS first responders were waiting.

No firefighter injuries were reported, but the conditions of the passengers and cause of the crash are unknown at this time.
