LOGAN COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – The Logan County Sheriff’s Department needs your help finding the person responsible for a gruesome case of animal abuse in the county.

According to a member of the Paws Squad, the rescue group who is sponsoring the the dog, the tendons in both of her back legs have been cut, either by knife or gunshot. She is severely emaciated and dehydrated, according to a veterinarian caring for her.

The Paws Squad has lovingly named her Clarise.

Investigators said a woman called 911 from the Rossmore area of Logan County after she spotted Clarise.

She did have a collar on, that collar did not have a name tag on it, according to members of the Paws Squad.

If you have any information in the case, you’re asked to contact the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

To make a donation to assist in caring for Clarise, you may call Knowles Animal Hospital at 304-752-8387 or donate via PayPal to the Paws Squad by using the email address ‘thepawssquad@yahoo.com’.
