CHARLESTON, W. Va. (WVNS) — West Virginia lawmakers have introduced a bill that proposes an increase in age requirements to purchase tobacco products.

If both chambers agree this legislative session, Senate Bill 13 would raise the West Virginia tobacco age from 18 to 21.

Right now, the bill is being referred to both the Senate and Judiciary Committees.

If it passes both committees, it will head to the senate floor for a vote.
