A Wyoming County community is getting in the Christmas spirit. The city of Mullens is partnering with the Mullens Chamber of Commerce to host a Christmas parade, followed by a winter wonderland event.
After dealing with tough times this year, Commissioner of Mullens Parks and Recreation, Christy Seaton, said the city is looking forward to putting smiles on people’s faces with a S’mores station, fire pits, and a Christmas tree lighting.
“It’s to foster a sense of community in our area,” Seaton said. “Times are rough with the economic decline with the mines closing in the area and we just want to provide a free, fun night for families to come out make memories with their kids.”
The parade will kick-off at 6:00 P.M on Thursday, Nov. 29, and run down Moran Avenue and Howard Avenue.
The Winter Wonderland event will follow right after in the city parking lot.
