Georgia man arrested in Wyoming County on drug charges

4 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018 UPDATE:  The car that was being driven by James Scott was impounded by the Wyoming County Deputies following his arrest.  A warrant to search the car was obtained by investigators.

That resulted in more methamphetamine being found.  Deputies said the total amount of meth found is nearly one pound.  More charges could be pending in the case.


A traffic stop in Lynco, WV lands one man in jail on drug charges.  It happened on Monday, July 9, 2018.

Deputies with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department pulled over a car on a possible DUI.  When Deputy T. Sizemore approached the car, he smelled marijuana.  That led to a search of the vehicle.

Investigators found a large amount of cash and methamphetamine. 

The driver, James Ronald Scott, 50, of Abington Walk, GA was arrested.  He is charged with possession with intent to deliver, transport of a controlled substance in the state and DUI.

Mr. Scott went before a magistrate who set his bond at $75,000.  He is being held in the Southern Regional Jail.
