Mullens man arrested on child neglect charges

MULLENS, WV (WVNS) — A man has been arrested and is facing child neglect charges in Wyoming County.

Mullens Police arrested Daniel L Woodson of Itmann, Sunday, June 24th, 2018.

According to officers, the incident happened after a citizen advised police of a man with a small child in South Mullens that appeared to be intoxicated.

Law enforcement found the child walking up the street alone, they secured the child and then located the suspects truck parked with the door open unattended.

Officers later found the male subject in the back yard of a residence near the river in South Mullens unresponsive.

Officers contacted the Department of Human Services to secure the child, and arrested Woodson for child neglect. He is now being held in Southern Regional jail on $5,000 bond.
