The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department was closed Thursday, Jan. 11 due to no water.

Chief Deputy Jimmy White told 59 News the building has been without water for five days.

While patrols and a law enforcement presence is still happening, there are some things that had to change.

Right now, deputies are unable to hold any suspects within their department.

“The problem with me housing prisoners, I can’t house prisoners due to the fact I don’t have any water,” Wyoming County Sheriff, C.S. Parker said. “I have deputies out on the road, if people need them they call 911. They’ll be there, but just the office part is closed.”

Deputies said if you need assistance from the Sheriff’s Department, you should call 911 or 304-732-6953.
