Westside High School is finding a way to honor one of its students who passed away last year. Emma McCoy was a sophomore at Westside when she lost her battle to cerebral vasculitis in November of 2018.
Now her family is starting the Emma McCoy Scholarship Fund in her honor.
Westside Principal, Keith Stewart, said the fund is a great way to have Emma with them forever. He also said people can help donate to the scholarship fund by purchasing pictures being sold at the school.
“For $20 per picture the complete price of that goes to the donation of the scholarship,” Stewart said. “So, we’ve been selling those since the fall and hoping for a good scholarship to offer a senior that is going to college this coming year.”
