FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) — The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) is alerting people to the extension of a temporary road closure in Fayette County. The announcement concerns the existing closure of Fayette Station Road.

According to Greg Hylton, District Nine Construction Engineer, Fayette Station Road (CR 82) in Fayetteville will remain closed on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019. The extension will be from 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3.

The area covered begins at the river access parking area on the South side of the New River and ends 0.6 miles Northeast of the intersection with Burma Road. The extended closure is to complete road widening, repairs and guardrail installation.

The WVDOH leaders expressed their apologies for any inconvenience this causes local residents and guests to the area. While the road is expected to be reopened on Oct. 3, bad weather or unforeseen issues could cause delays.
