A Wyoming County woman is awarded for making positive changes in the mountain state.
Executive Director of Wyoming County EDA, Christy Laxton, is one of three people in the state to receive the West Virginia Jaycees Outstanding Young West Virginian Award.
This award is meant to identify people who have distinguished themselves in their careers or through community service. Laxton serves on a total of 19 boards and committees in Wyoming County.
“It is exciting to know that you get an award for doing what you love to do everyday, in the county you grew up in, before the people that you love,” Laxton said.
The prestigious annual award recognizes people between the ages of 18 and 40.
