Wyoming County working to save stray or abandoned animals

PINEVILLE, WV (WVNS) — Locals are voicing their concerns on social media about wandering dogs in Wyoming County.

Wyoming County administrators confirmed their Animal Control Officer quit about a month ago, so they’re trying to take action as efficiently as possible.

Many calls of stray dogs are handed over to Wyoming County Paw Patrol. Located in Oceana, they are a 501(c)3 home based foster for animals who are surrendered or strayed by their owner. The organization actively searches rescue homes for them.

If there is a call regarding a vicious or dangerous dog, county employees respond and quarantine the dog for three days. You can dial 911 if you have a concern.
