Boys high school basketball sectionals tournaments announced

The 2019 Boys Basketball Sectional Brackets have been announced for the entire state. Game begin as early as Friday, February 22.

Below are the schedules and seeding for all Region 3 Basketball Teams across Classes A, AA, & AAA:

Class AAA – Region III, Section 1:

#4 South Charleston @ #1 George Washington, 7 p.m on Wednesday 2/27

#3 St. Albans @ #2 Capital, 7 p.m. on Wednesday 2/27

Championship Game held at highest remaining seed on Friday 3/1

Class AAA – Region III, Section 2:

#4 Riverside @ #1 Woodrow Wilson, 7 p.m. on Wednesday 2/27

Of course, the teams that win their Sectional Championship will then have the opportunity to host the team that lost the Sectional on the opposite side. Teams that lose the Sectional remain alive, but must travel for their Regional matchup.

Regional Games are expected to be played during the week of 3/4 – 3/9 before the top 8 teams in the State head to the Charleston Civic Center on March 13th to begin the State Tournament.
