While the state fair has something for everyone, this year is offering something special for the 21 and older crowd. The fairgrounds opened their own beer garden.
The family friendly tent is located in the center of the grounds and is serving alcoholic beverages daily.
Director of Operations at the fairgrounds, Garrett McCormick, said while a glass of beer goes great with a slice of pizza, employees are making sure guests are drinking responsibly.
“We’re having a glass of beer, glass of wine or cider and going about your day. You must drink inside the gate, you can’t be walking around with it,” McCormick said.
The beer garden also sells a few products from West Virginia: a cider from Franklin and a special beer from Dobra Zupas, just for the fair. The tent is open from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m.
