Governor Jim Justice declares a State of Emergency for counties affected by flash flooding.

The state of emergency is for Grant, Pendleton, Tucker, and Randolph counties due to heavy rainfall Saturday night that caused significant flooding.

Justice authorized West Virginia Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director Mike Todorovich to use all resources necessary. He also directed the WV National Guard to assist.

The State Emergency Operations Center has been activated and is coordinating with officials in the declaration area to determine their needs.

Other counties may be added as necessary. The official declaration will be filed Monday.
