UPDATE: BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS)Wednesday, June 2, 2021: The identity of the victim involved in the Sunday night shooting in Bluefield has been released.

Jaquan Allen, 23, of Princeton was shot and killed during an altercation around 6 p.m. on May 30th. According to detectives, the suspect turned themselves in following the shooting.

No charges have been filed at this time.

UPDATE: BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS)Tuesday, June 1, 2021: The victim of a shooting in Bluefield Sunday night has passed away.

The victim was being treated at Bluefield Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained during the shooting. The identity of the person has not yet been released.

BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) — A Sunday evening shooting leaves one person injured.

Officers with the Bluefield Police Department told 59News it happened at Memorial Park in Bluefield just after 5 p.m. They said the shooting was between two cousins. One acted out in self defense.

The victim is being treated at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. The suspect is in custody.
