BOE to begin looking for new New Mercer County Superintendent

PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) — After decades of working in the West Virginia school system, Mercer County Superintendent Dr. Deborah Akers is retiring.

The Board of Education is in charge of finding Akers’ replacement. Officials with the board said they are meeting next week to discuss candidates. Akers’ spent nearly half a century in education.
