Caregiver arrested after drug paraphernalia found near child

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) — Thursday evening sheriff’s deputies in Fayette County were called to a home on Thurmond Road. When they arrived they found Sandra Harron, 51, of Glen Jean unconscious.

Ms. Harron was given Narcan by first responders which revived her. She had a child and a disabled elderly person in her care at the time. Deputies said they found drug paraphernalia and needles within the reach of the child.

A Drug Recognition Expert was called in and concluded Ms. Harron was impaired by drugs. She was arrested and charged with Child Neglect Creating Risk of Serious Bodily Injury or Death. She was taken to the Southern Regional Jail to wait for an arraignment hearing.
