BRAMWELL, WV (WVNS) — A couple from Bramwell is facing felony charges for stealing more than 200 $1 scratch-off lottery tickets.

Bramwell Police arrested Lacie Copley, 18, and her boyfriend, Aaron Burkett, 26, Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

Police said Copley stole a pack of West Virginia lottery tickets from a convenience store where she worked. The next day, Copley and Burkett cashed them in at three different stores in Bramwell.

West Virginia Lottery officials discovered the tickets were stolen after an audit at the convenience store.

Every ticket stolen is a felony charge. Copley is charged with 211 felonies including fraud and conspiracy. Burkett is also charged with 31 felonies.

Police said Burkett, who was a volunteer firefighter in Bramwell, is also facing arson charges for setting a building on fire in December 2018.
