Dozens of inmates treated for carbon monoxide poisoning at FCI McDowell

WELCH, WV (WVNS) — Dozens of inmates and staff members were treated for carbon monoxide poisoning at the federal prison in McDowell County.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, there was a carbon monoxide leak at FCI McDowell. Twenty six inmates and five staff members received medical treatment.

The facility is now back to normal operations.
