FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS)– Wednesday, July 15, 2020 3:30 p.m. UPDATE: Another positive case of COVID-19 was reported at the Fayette Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
According to the Center, an additional patient tested positive. A total of four patients and one employee tested positive.
The Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is continuing to monitor all patients.
FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS)– Wednesday, July 8, 2020 5:30 p.m. UPDATE: The Fayette Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (Fayette N&RC) confirmed three patients tested positive for COVID-19. The nursing home released a statement via Facebook on July 8, 2020. According to the statement, the patients were identified through contract tracing and retested.
Those tests results are as follows:
• Three patients tested positive.
• 11 patients tested negative.
• Eight employees tested negative.
“From the initial recognition of a potentially positive case, Fayette Nursing and Rehabilitation leadership has been working directly with us at the local health department, as well as with the outbreak investigation team at the WV Bureau for Public Health Office of Epidemiology and Prevention Services. They have clearly, and quickly, instituted procedures and plans that follow the guidance from the Bureau for Public Health as well as the CDC during this process to ensure the safety of both their residents, as well as their staff,” said Dr. Anita Stewart, Health Officer for the Fayette County Health Department. “As things continue to evolve, we will continue to collaboratively work towards providing information to residents, families, and staff, all the while working to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.”
Fayette N&RC continues to follow the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and local health guidelines from the Fayette County Health Department to protect their patients and employees. The Center also restricted visitation with one loved ones. Visitors will be able to request a televisit by clicking on this link.
The Center also stated they are taking steps to ensure the safety of their patients and employees to help prevent further spread of the virus.
The Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) is reporting this as an active outbreak. The definition of an outbreak in regards to a nursing home is one confirmed laboratory case within 14 days of another. Outbreaks remain active until 14 days has passed without the identification of additional cases.
FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) — An employee tested positive for COVID-19 at the Fayette Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The Center confirmed the positive case in a Facebook post Thursday, July 2, 2020. According to the post, the employee is quarantining at home.
All employees and patients will now be tested for COVID-19, and visitation is restricted.
