RUPERT, WV (WVNS) — West Virginia State Troopers in Greenbrier County were called to a home in Rupert just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019. Dispatchers told the trooper the suspect was throwing things and threatening to burn down the house.
When investigators arrived they found smoke coming from the home and several people standing in the yard. Inside they found Greg Lilly, who law enforcement officers said appeared to be drunk. They also said the couch had two large burn holes.
Statements from witnesses said Mr. Lilly was drunk and throwing things around the house. According to court documents, Lilly told investigators and others it was his house and he would burn it if he pleased.
Lilly was arrested and charged withe First Degree Arson and two counts of Domestic Battery. He is being held in the Southern Regional Jail.
