CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — Wednesday, March 25, 2020 is a statewide Day of Prayer in West Virginia. Gov. Jim Justice made the declaration on Monday as the same time he announced a Stay At Home order ton help contain the spread of COVID-19.

The Governor and religious leaders hosted a service at Noon.

“I go to my God every day. I can tell you he’ll lead us out of this. But today is a special day for us all to come together,” Justice said.

Pastor Doc Adkins with Beckley First Baptist Church said it is a good thing to see everyone come together.

“When people come together in numbers, there’s something about it that gets God’s attention. I think it was a good thing to do because prayer is not getting our way in heaven, but getting God’s way down here on Earth,” Adkins said.
