Muggy Overnight But Rain Free

Weather

Tonight’s fireworks shows and nightly 4th of July activities look to be in great shape despite some extra clouds building in. We remain dry as a weak system moves through Pennsylvania. The mugginess will start to be noticeable as we cool down after sunset. Some late-night fog is possible heading into Monday morning.

A few pop-up afternoon showers and storms in the heat and the humidity of the day remain possible on Monday but most should still remain on the drier side of the forecast. Highs in the upper 80s.

We’ll be watching closely as Tropical Storm (Once Hurricane) Elsa moves closer to the Florida coast Monday to see where she makes landfall. If conditions are right, we may see her remnants moving closer to our region later in the week.

Tuesday will see the heat and humidity continue. A small chance of an afternoon shower can’t be ruled out though. Highs near 90.

Wednesday could see a few more clouds as a front moves closer in from the west and a storm brews off to our south and tries to push up the east coast. A few occasional showers and storms are also possible through the heat of the day. Something to watch for now. Highs at least remain into the mid and upper 80s.

For Thursday, the aforementioned front and storm look to meet somewhere along the east coast sparking rain and thunderstorms for most throughout the day. Highs drop to the low 80s.

Friday looks to cool down a little to near average in the low 80s. The risk of showers and storms through the morning and afternoon is possible as the unsettled pattern continues.

In the extended forecast the chance for some unsettled weather remains. We do look to cool off slightly back to near average temperatures behind Thursday’s front!
