GHENT, WV (WVNS) — January 4, 2018 — Winterplace Ski Resort is reporting an increase of skiers, snowboarders, and snowtubers for this time of year. They say the weather has been extremely cooperative throughout December 2017 and the beginning of January 2018. No matter the temperatures, these thrill-seekers are devoted to the slopes, even if it requires a break or two.
“Skiers are very loyal,” said Tom Wagner, Winterplace executive vice president. “When they know there’s snow, they come out. When we have cold weather like today, though, what it does is it causes you to may take a run, you’re going to come in and take a break.”
Winterplace says snow-makers have been able to practically cover all of the resort, meaning nearly every trail is open.
